I do not know if there is a physical Quiet Room in my house, but wherever my little girl falls asleep in my arms, that is where I may know clearly the bliss of genuine quiet and peace.
It is in the moment I rock my daughter to sleep that I am finally off duty. A peace comes over me like no other. The room is dim. There is a stillness that is humbling. I am holding a little angel I can hardly believe is real. I am rocking her and she is rocking me, too.
Here are the names of a couple of our favorite songs I like to sing: “Go to Sleep Little Baby” and “Edelweiss.”
